Alexandra Weiss graduated in May 2010 with a double major in Biochemistry and Honors Finance from the University of Utah. As part of her honors degree, she completed a thesis examining the total market size for genetic tests and financial ramifications to changes in gene patenting. During her time at the University of Utah, Alexandra participated in several different organizations, including serving as president of Top Jobs Finance Honors Society. She received the Presidential Scholarship at entrance. Alexandra has acepted an offer from Bain & Company to work full-time as an associate consultant in their Dallas office beginning in the Fall 2010. She plans on pursuing an MBA in the future and re-entering the world of private equity.
Alexandra has been with UVF since May 2008 and has been fortunate to lead two new investments - American Achievement and Control4 - as well as participate in a follow-on round for Ancora Pharmaceuticals. While working at UVF, she was also a teacher's assistant to several faculty members in both finance and statistics. Previously, Alexandra was a analyst for Venture Returns researching recent mergers and acquisitions. Her interests include baking, theater, and ballroom dancing.
