Kimyen Nguyen is a senior graduating in May 2011 with a Major in Honors Finance and Minor in Mathematics. Kimyen was born in Vietnam and is conversationally fluent in Vietnamese. She has been involved in various on-campus organizations including the Center for Ethnic Student Affairs, ASAP, Beta Alpha Psi, Top Jobs, and the Student Investment Fund. Kimyen is interested in financial investments and research. She has built her undergraduate studies around learning how to properly gather information and to analyze possible trends.
Kimyen has been with the University Venture Fund since May 2009. In addition to UVF, she was one of five undergraduate students from the University of Utah chosen to represent the University of Utah in Salt Lake City's first CFA Research Challenge in 2009. The team competed against other MBA teams from Utah, and placed 2nd in Utah. In the summer of 2010, Kimyen interned with Wells Fargo in their Investment Management Division analyzing mutual funds and hedge funds. During the summer of 2009, she interned with Goldman Sachs in the Operations Division. Kimyen is also a Presidential Intern and will be working closely with the President's Office at the University of Utah during her senior year. As an intern for the President's Office, she will have the chance to work on several projects related to the University of Utah's investments, tuition, changing demographics, etc.
